PRIVACY POLICY AND INFORMATION SHARING

The Spencer Foundation is committed to respecting the privacy of its online visitors and users.

The Foundation only gathers “personally identifiable information” (information that relates to an identified individual) if you voluntarily submit such information to us through registration forms, subscription forms, feedback forms, and profile update forms or by signing up to receive our email newsletters. We may use your personally identifiable information in the following ways:

  • To contact you with news and information regarding the Spencer Foundation, including events and research sponsored by the Foundation.
  • To respond to your questions or comments sent to us via email or postal mail.
  • To comply with any valid legal process such as a search warrant, subpoena, statute, or court order and to counter any attempted breach of security of our website, or a physical threat to you or others.

We will not use your email address or other information which you may provide to us in the future in order to send you additional information. We will not share, sell or rent any such information to any third party for such purposes.

Users who register to receive our emails may request to be removed from our e-mail list at any time. We will honor your request, and this will not affect your grant-related communications.

LINKS TO EXTERNAL WEBSITES

The Spencer Foundation website may provide links to resources or information that we find useful. These links will take you to websites operated by different privacy practices. When leaving www.spencer.org, we recommend that you check the privacy policy of the website you are visiting before sharing information; we have no control over information that is submitted to third parties.

INFORMATION GATHERING AND USE

We use web software to track the number of visitors to our website. No personal information is collected during the tracking process. The statistics show us the pages visited most often, how visitors navigate through our website, and the domains from which visitors access the website. The data is then analyzed internally for trends. It is used to help us determine how to provide more useful information to visitors.

UPDATES

We may update this policy at any time and encourage you to check back periodically and review the Foundation’s most updated policy. If you have further questions about our privacy policy, the information you have submitted, or the use of information collected, please contact us at privacy@spencer.org.
