2007 Exemplary Dissertation Award Essay on Excellence
Periodically, the Foundation asks a member of the EDA selection committee to prepare an essay describing his or her interpretation of what made that year’s award recipient’s work exemplary. Our goal in this effort is to collect a series of individual reflections on excellence in education research. The first of these essays was prepared by Adam Gamoran, professor of Sociology and Education Policy Studies and Director of the Wisconsin Center for Education Research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Reflections on Exemplary Dissertations in Education Research essay by Dr. Adam GamoranThe National Academy of Education/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowships, and the Spencer Fellows at the Spencer Fellows at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences are administered by outside agencies on behalf of the Foundation.
The Spencer/AERA Pre-Dissertation Program has been discontinued.
